We currently have an excellent opportunity for a SENIOR Legal Counsel (Labor Law) to join our organization in Caxias do Sul - RS, Brazil, reporting directly to the Latin America Legal Director.

Scope: Legal support to the local legal business, with focus on labor law matters pertaining to the organization.  Provide legal advice and interpret policies related to collective bargaining, employment litigation, employee discipline, employee rights, employment contracts, general benefits issues, severance, executive agreements, harassment, immigration, international employment law, labor relations, outsourcing, Human Resources policies, restrictive covenant, wage and hour, litigation, workplace violence and wrongful termination.

Acts as advisor to and coordinates with external counsel on legal issues including but not limited to the litigation management, organization's government and regulatory compliance, data privacy and risk mitigation. Prepares documents to support same. Reviews legal data and advises organization on appropriate legal action to be taken.

Qualifications:
A qualified lawyer with experience in Labor Law, Litigation and corporate matters.
  • Be graduated in a law university and registered  in the Brazilian BAR Association (OAB)
  • Experience in an international company or in an international law firm or major national law firms
  • In-house experience as a lawyer for a multinational law or technology firm
  • Have legal experience in Latin American legal matters will be considered a plus
  • Be fluent in English (or at least an advanced level)
  • Have strong and varied set of legal skills including a solid understanding to elaborate and revise litigation matters and defenses
  • Have the ability to prioritize conflicting demands and manage the delivery of legal services across business, operate effectively against short timelines and provide prompt Labor advices
  • Have ability to work effectively internationally, and with different cultures; self-management; be a team player and have strong interpersonal skills; have drive, commitment and initiative
  • Candidates who previously worked within the manufacturing, technology or engineering industries or who provided legal services to companies in these industries, labor and employment job related skills experience preferable in corporations and who have some international experience would have an advantage
  • Intermediate Spanish and Labor law post graduation will be a plus

This position will lead and manage the Company Accounting & Control in LATAM and provide oversight of the outsourced organization's performance within the Region.  This role will have direct responsibility for the Accounting & Control groups in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina. In this role, you will lead and manage all aspects associated with the accounting and reporting functions for the LATAM region, including the implementation of consistent and effective business processes that encompass both Company and outsourced service providers for financial shared services.

LATAM  Finance
  • Provide technical support an input regarding accounting, business process and control implications related to Corporate/and or Business Unit projects
  • Provide strategic and implementation leadership to local finance projects based on agreed upon Corporate, Business Unit (BU) and region priorities
LATAM General Accounting
  • Manage and lead local process owners for Accounting & Control
  • Identify and implement process improvements in accounting close, reporting and analysis
  • Assist in developing as well as reinforcing policy and procedures
  • Assist in the  training, assessment and development of accounting and finance personnel within the region
  • Provide guidance on post retirements benefits accounting and reporting for various countries.
  • Ensure that the Affiliates adhere to the local statutory compliance requirements  based on agreed upon timeline and schedule
  • Responsible for attending tax auditors as well as planning and executing responses to the defense of tax audits with the affiliates, in close coordination with Global tax manager and regional legal department.
  • Work with Global Treasury leadership and BU Finance to support working capital reporting and achievement of  operating performance goals
  • Responsible for managing, in close coordination with Global treasury and Credit and collections management, as well as the  Regional Finance BU directors of treasury activities within the region including cash and banks, payments, credit and collections.  Will foster compliance with Global treasury policies and procedures.
Sox/Internal Controls
  • Coordinate the SOX program in the region
  • Ensure affiliates are up to date with company policies and procedures.  In addition ensure timely SOX testing and all SOX conflicts are resolved timely with mitigating controls
  • Signatory to the SEC Certification
  • Work with BU Finance to ensure internal controls are maintained at each site and ensure all audit points are implemented
  • Coordinate internal audits with Internal Audit group
  • Liaise with external auditors and provide support to affiliates during year end audits

The Challenge

Here’s what you’ll do
  • Develop and track strategic plans and partner roadmaps for Brazil for all media channels, (including broadcast, print and digital) and trigger effective buying for those channels
  • Work closely with, and provide assistance to the Regional team in identifying partners, resolving customer problems and developing business projects for Brazil
  • Source, establish and close opportunities with key affiliate partners and manage those relationships and contracts
  • Develop weekly and monthly reporting on key accounts and opportunities

Responsabilities include direct and indirect team management., interface with the Enterprise Business Team and control of BO opportunities. In addition, responsable for direct and indirect sales records and sell in/ sell through and sell out control.
